How do Streaks work?

How it works

Streaks counts consecutive days someone did a chore. The chore list can reset however you like — the streak still cares about today.

It’s different from the Reward Jar (treats for one person) and the Goal Jar (one prize for the whole house). Streaks is the little reason to pitch in again tomorrow.

Day streaks are included free, and they’re on by default. Chorish Plus adds a household goal, Freeze for a tough day, printable certificates, and longest-streak history. See What is Chorish Plus?.

Open the Streaks board

  1. On the home dashboard, tap Streaks — it’s next to Choreboard and Gameboard.
  2. Everyone in the home gets a card with their medal. That’s where you’ll see the streak count.

You can also see their streak in Details.

Don’t see Streaks? They’re on by default. If the flame and the Streaks button are gone, open Manage → Streaks and turn them back on.

The flame on their card

From day 2, a flame shows on the left of their member card. If they have points, it sits just below that badge.

The flame means they’re on a streak — it doesn’t show a count. For the number, open the Streaks board or Details. If they’ve frozen today (Chorish Plus), the flame becomes a snowflake.

Keep the streak going

  • One chore today is enough. Extra chores the same day don’t add extra days.
  • Someone else already marked it done? They can still tap it — each person’s own tap counts.
  • Miss a full day and the chain resets, unless they already tapped Freeze for today (Plus).

If the chain resets, the Streaks board (and Details) still remember the last run — Last streak was 7 days and Jump back in. Do a chore today to start again. Goal rosettes they’ve already earned stay on the card.

Freeze a tough day (Chorish Plus)

Need a pass? On that person’s Streaks card, tap Freeze to cover today. The chip reads Frozen while it’s on.

Miss a day without it and the chain resets. You can’t freeze a day after you already missed it. After it’s used, the chip reads Used.

On free, Freeze is locked — see What is Chorish Plus?.

Goals and certificates (Chorish Plus)

  1. In Manage → Streaks, set one household goal: 7, 14, or 30 days (or none).
  2. Everyone plays toward that same target.
  3. When someone hits it, print from the Streaks board:
    • Tap Print. If they’ve earned more than one certificate, pick 7, 14, or 30.
    • Or tap a rosette on their medal to print that one.

Then Print or share. Certificates are a keepsake you print — they aren’t saved on the member’s profile.

Turn Streaks off

Want a simpler dashboard? Owners can turn Streaks off in Manage → Streaks.

The flame and Streaks button hide. Nobody’s streak is wiped, and days with Streaks off don’t reset the chain. The Manage tile stays so you can switch them back on.
